YA Programs for March and April 2008

YOUNG ADULT BOOK DISCUSSION
Wednesday, March 5, 7-8 pm
Wednesday, April 2, 7-8 pm

Meet Larry, whose website is full of wit, insight, and spiritual observation. There’s one problem: Larry doesn’t actually exist. That is, Larry is really Josh, who is in love with Beth, who is in love with Larry. All becomes clear in our March book, The Gospel According to Larry by Janet Tashjian. In April, we’ll discuss Backwater by Joan Bauer, which is the tale of a girl struggling to be different – in a family full of cutthroat lawyers, she wants to be a historian. We’ll meet in the comfy confines of our new YA room for lively discussion and tasty snacks. The books are available for checkout at the Patron Services desk. Registration, beginning Feb 1, is required: Register in person, or call Noël at 352-0576 x 35, or AIM us at lgpublib.

April book discussion: The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, Volume I by Diana Wynne Jones
Gewndolen Chant is a witch. She’s also the wildest, meanest big sister you’ll ever meet. Gwendolen and Cat, her shy younger brother, are sent to live with the mysterious Chrestomanci. Find out the magical secrets of Chrestomanci and the Chant family in this imaginative series. This month’s quidditch match will be Gryffindor vs. Beauxbatons. Butterbeer and chocolate frogs will help us celebrate warmer weather! Registration, beginning March 1, is required: Register in person, or call Deb at 352-0576 x 35, or AIM us at lgpublib.
