LTTV LIVE @ THE LIBRARY
Tuesday, November 13, 6-8 pm
“I wanna be famous, a star of the screen…” Small screen, that is. It’s the Grand Opening Week of the new Library, and the crew from LTTV is coming to film a segment for their news show! They will be taking a tour of the new building and interviewing librarians and patrons about what they think of the new Library – and if you’re here, you could be a part of it. Come on over and check out the Burns-Diaz Young Adult Room – the newest teen sensation to hit La Grange – and maybe make the news!
YOUNG ADULT HOLIDAY CRAFTS
Wednesday, November 14, 7-8 pm
Wednesday, December 12, 7-8 pm
It’s the holidays, and you’re looking for a couple of cool homemade gifts for your BFFs or your family. Why not start at the library? We’re exploring our inner Martha Stewarts with a felt mitten holiday fridge magnet in November, and in December we’ll make fabric-topped gift jars, ready to fill with chocolates, cookies, or whatever you like.
Registration, beginning November 5, is required: Register in person, or call Noël at 352-0576 x 35, or AIM us at lgpublib.
GOT HARRY POTTER WITHDRAWAL? JOIN DUMBLEDORE’S ARMY!
Sunday, November 18, 2-3 pm
Sunday, December 16, 2–3 pm
DA is the new YA fantasy fiction club. Discover and talk about the latest fantasy books, films, and TV shows. We’ll also write some of our own fantasy fiction and play indoor quidditch! (No previous flying experience required.) Meetings will take place once a month.
November 18: The Deathly Hallows Discussion. What did you think of Rowling's final installment? Let's discuss it! The last half of the meeting we’ll play a scrimmage quidditch game, so bring a broomstick.
December 16: The Golden Compass Confab. We’ll talk about the new film based on Philip Pullman’s trilogy and discuss if and how the next two films in the series will be made. Plus we’ll chow down on a special cake – made to look like the alethiometer.
Registration, beginning November 5, is required: Register in person, or call Noël at 352-0576 x 35, or AIM us at lgpublib.
YOUNG ADULT BOOK DISCUSSION Wednesday, December 5, 7-8 pm
